Data accuracy is one of the most important parts of a Shopify Plus migration project. A source store can contain products, variants, SKUs, prices, images, collections or categories, customers, orders, pages, blog content, reviews, metadata and custom fields. Our migration team creates a source-to-Shopify mapping before the data is moved. This identifies which fields transfer directly, which need transformation, and which need a new implementation. For Shopify to Shopify Plus, or a direct replatform to Shopify Plus specifically, the migration plan also accounts for platform-specific structures and limitations. Where the source system contains information that Shopify represents differently, we use a defined transformation rule instead of relying on assumptions. Test imports are performed before the final migration, allowing the team to identify duplicate records, missing images, incorrect variant relationships, broken references and other issues while there is still time to correct them.
